It has always been a source of surprise to me that people are stupid enough to give their credit card numbers to someone who has already stolen their email address.

OK you wouldn't do it and I wouldn't do it. But there are people out there who are doing it every day. How else can you explain the ceaseless flow of spam? If nobody was buying, it would dry up. If nobody was buying, the spam masterminds wouldn't have the cash to pay the hired spammers. (I wouldn't think the spam masterminds would be stupid enough to put their own internet accounts at risk, but who knows?)

Of course, the hired spammers may just be stupid enough (or greedy enough) to think that they have stumbled on a great way to work from home using their computer.

"How stupid can people be?" I hear you cry in dismay.

You can get your answer here.
